My name is Eilidh Johnson, I’m 23 and I come from Dingwall.
I spent five years working and studying on the Isle of Skye where I completed my Diploma in Gaelic Media at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. I moved home at the end of 2022 and am now living in Inverness.
I work at a production company, DP Digital Media, as a production specialist. We film, edit and distribute films for a variety of different clients. From commercial films to live event filming, there’s never two days that are the same.
I’ve spoken Gaelic since a very young age with my father who is a native Gaelic speaker from South Uist. It’s a huge part of my culture.
I’m really happy to be able to say that we’ve been able to integrate Gaelic into the work we do, giving us the opportunity to broaden the spectrum of films that we are able to make for clients.
I can truly say that I wouldn’t be where I am today without the opportunities I’ve received from being a Gàidhlig speaker and I’m very proud of my language.
