Tomintoul and Glenlivet Development Trust celebrates 10 years of community-led development

A community at the heart of local development

Tomintoul and Glenlivet Development Trust celebrated its 10th birthday in 2022.

Set up by the community to respond to the economic challenge of Tomintoul’s two main hotels closing, our film explores the Trust’s role in leading the community effort to care for and promote development in this part of the Cairngorms National Park - including creating local jobs, providing tourism facilities for visitors, safeguarding local heritage and culture and, most recently, developing new affordable housing.

It’s a must watch for anyone interested in how community-led development can be at the centre of community engagement, spotting opportunities, strategic planning, building on local assets and delivering on local needs.
