Fibre 1’s aspiration is to continue to grow, develop and build on the strong first few years we have had in this ever changing fast paced industry.Stewart Macdonald, Director, Fibre 1
Fibre from cabinets, full fibre, hosted telephony, leased lines, virtual private networks, wireless ethernet, and mobile.
With connectivity and digital business options broader than ever before, Fibre 1 has chosen the perfect time to grow its Moray based business. It has been on hand since 2016 to help its national and local customers navigate the best telecoms, broadband and hosting solutions.
They have supply deals direct across over 50 channel partners, including service provider companies Talk Talk Business and CityFibre.
They also have full wholesale line rental access for BT lines and call provision.
Horizon Scotland and the Enterprise Park Forres is the perfect location to meet the needs of expanding businesses.
Moving in to Horizon Scotland in 2018, Fibre 1 now has three units for their provisioning, support and billing teams.
Following a recent recruitment round, the technology firm employs seven full-time staff, and is looking to build on this as growth continues in 2020.
As our client, the business benefits from the support of a dedicated account manager Steve Richards.
"Fibre 1 works with businesses in the Highlands and Islands, and across the UK, with customers in Manchester, Birmingham and London," said Steve.
"We're working on a variety of aspects in their growth plan. They're particularly focused on building on their annual revenue model, and on the quality of their customer services and service provision."
Originally from Dunnet in Caithness, one of Fibre 1's latest recruits Jan Robertson moved to Moray in 2017. Having met her Moray partner while working at Dounreay, the pair felt the area offered good opportunities for them to settle.
With her range of administrative and project management skills, she worked in the Health Service locally, and when she saw the post with Fibre 1 promoted on Moray Works facebook, she loved the sound of the job and the challenge of a new role.
"I am working alongside the Operations Director as Operations Manager. It's been six months since I joined the team and the time has gone so quickly," she said. "There is a lot to learn and I feel I have settled in well to the role, and I love being part of the wider team. No two days are the same and every day is a learning day in the world of technology. That alongside the excellent working environment and atmosphere we have in the Forres office mean it's a great job."
Living in Elgin, Jan loves the quality of life the region offers. It's the perfect balance - the beautiful Moray beaches and scenery are familiar reminders of her Caithness upbringing, she enjoys local amenities in the bustling Cathedral city of Elgin, and it's only a short hop to Aberdeen and Inverness.
And for footie fan Jan, there is the added advantage of a central location when going to Highland League games. A former club secretary for Wick Academy FC, she still cheers the team on when she can.
Jan added:"Our region is a fantastic place to live, and it's so easy to enjoy country or city living. There's so much to do, and a lot of our areas still have a lot of traditions giving them a lovely community feel."
