Remember Dolly the Sheep? She is only one example of Scotland’s world-renowned expertise in A3 – our collective name for aquaculture, agritech and animal health sectors.
The A3 Scotland conference in Inverness this week brings together the businesses and researchers from around the globe, working in the industries now.
They develop and deploy new products and services that help farmers run their businesses more sustainably and more efficiently. This all helps to provide better food and drink products while reducing carbon impact and promoting high standards of animal welfare.
Having worked alongside colleagues at SRUC to develop the packed programme, I’m looking forward to bringing together small and large companies, startups and investors, alongside researchers and innovation centres.
There are lots of opportunities to make new connections and about the latest developments.
Personally, I’m looking forward to understanding how artificial intelligence can help make quicker and more precise decisions when it comes to the health of cows or fish, and to hear how images captured by satellites help monitor the health of trees in Scotland’s forests.
If you want to see a robot plough a field and see fish being fed remotely, come along to Inverness Campus on Tue 17 Sept, the day before the conference. I’ll see you there.
