My HIE life - Jaynie Ireland

Jaynie Ireland, from Fort William, graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a First Class BA (Hons) in Social Sciences.

“I joined HIE in October 2023 as a graduate development manager with the business team. I am based in the Fort William office and my role involves supporting local businesses to grow.

My favourite thing about the job is getting out and about to meet clients and seeing how our support has made a difference to our local area.

HIE is a great organisation to work for. I collaborate with talented colleagues, contribute to interesting projects and make a positive impact on our community. Being part of HIE’s graduate placement scheme has provided me with valuable training and mentorship. I've taken part in initiatives including the Young Scotland Programme which developed my communication skills and allowed me to network with peers also in the early stages of their careers.”
