Special skills training grant

Who we can help?

Funding is available to assist the self-employed, small businesses and the unemployed to undertake short-term development training courses in skills which will enhance employment opportunities, create better career prospects or improve the viability of a business.

What assistance is available?

Assistance towards the total eligible costs of training course fees, travel and subsistence may be available. Grants vary depending on the circumstances of an individual case.

The training should not be of a statutory nature or a code of practice, e.g. Health & Safety or First Aid. You must contribute at least 50% of the total costs. All special skills grants are paid in arrears. You must apply to us before starting your training otherwise your application cannot be considered.
