HIE - equality and diversity
|
|
We also recognise the benefits of a diverse workforce and believe that the promotion of equality and diversity is a key component of good management, as well as being legally required, socially desirable and morally right. We are committed to treating all existing and prospective employees fairly - regardless of gender, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, religion or belief - or any other factor not relevant to employment. The new equality duties all have the same spirit and intention behind them, requiring public authorities to take action to tackle discrimination, to prevent harassment, and to ensure that their work promotes equality - not just in employment - but also in policy development and delivery and in service provision. HIE’s three schemes on race equality, disability equality and gender equality are all available for download here along with a combined action plan for the three schemes. Also published is the annual review of HIE’s Disability Equality Scheme and a statement on HIE’s pay policy and associated documents. In addition you can find monitoring data which we will build on over time to help chart progress in implementing HIE’s equality scheme action plan. If you have any queries about equality and diversity matters relating to HIE please contact Liz Scott, Equalities Manager on 01463 244206. |
