Assistance for tourism businesses
Tourism is very important to the Argyll and Islands area as a significant number of people are employed in this sector. HIE Argyll and the Islands offers advice, grants and training to help businesses to become more competitive. HIE Argyll and the Islands can help businesses identify training needs and access appropriate courses. Training can help your business become more competitive, even if you are already good at your job. It also enables you to talk to other people in tourism, to market your own business and to demonstrate a commitment to your customers. If you have a tourism project you wish to develop please contact us with an outline plan and we can give you advice on how to develop the plan, and we may be able to offer a grant towards the costs. Projects are assessed on an individual basis but we particularly welcome ideas from businesses or groups for projects which are not already represented in the area or which are targeting new markets. We can also assist with events and festivals which encourage tourists to visit the area, with priority being given to festivals which attract visitors outside the main tourism season. Financial assistance is intended to fill any gaps in funding and we expect to see evidence of funding support from other organisations, in particular private sector support. Please make enquiries well in advance of the event as we cannot fund retrospectively. For details of how we may be able to help you please contact us
